ABOUT
I am a freelance graphic designer and digital artist, residing in the East Coast. Besides creating art, I occasionally attempt to develop small indie games and sell/supply gaming assets to help other indie gaming communities.Outside of work, I spend some time with my soon-to-be service animal and play D&D with a few close friends.
Game Art / Asset
My primary skill, enhanced with the use of the photo editing programs from Adobe Suite, Affinity Suite, & Procreate, allowed me to paint the visual story each game deserves to tell the audience.
3D Modeling
Working alongside my primary skill, 3D modeling programs such as 3Ds Max & Blender, had taken the early concepts further by demonstrating what the characters and environments would appear in a game.
DEV BLOG
Twilight Nibbles is a game that has a mixed set of characteristics of a 3D Galaga, and Endless Runner with a pinch of horror. It focuses on a young witchling named Cici, who was studying her spells when she attempted to cast one of the enchantments without her mentor's supervision. Unfortunately, the enchantment backfired and turned her into a crow. Now stuck in a bird form, she, and her witty-talking hat Casper, have to work together to venture through the forest to find specific ingredients, and return to her mentor's home safely so Cici can undo her mistake. In the game, while collecting ingredients is the main objective, the player can also collect little snacks and desserts Cici loved to eat and gain energy for Casper to cast a few spells to clear out any obstacles & enemies.
This game was inspired by one simple recurrence - the interest of having a snack late at night. Through this inspiration, the main characters, Cici the Witchling, and her talking hat Casper, team up to face what lurks in the darkest parts of the woods. In these series of slides, there are images of the character models' wireframe, rendering, UVs, and the final appearance. In connection with the Twilight Nibbles game project, this set of work is made to give an insight of what the icon & logo art would appear before being put into the Unity game development engine. Through the game's witchy theme, some details - such as the character interaction and spell-casting abilities - gave an insight on what ways players can do to solve problems.
GMU DRIFT
GMU Drift is a racing game, developed by a large team of students at George Mason University. This project is an inspiration of the 2005 Nintendo DS version of Mario Kart. I volunteered to be a 3D modeler and created in-game props, vehicles, and their respective textures. Additionally, I assisted in setting up the prop placements for most of the maps.
